     James Paul Holcombe was born on 14 April 1951 at Westfield, Chautauqua Co., NY. He was the son of Paul Wood Holcombe and Viola Catherine Hodas. James Paul Holcombe died on 7 November 2021 at Absolut Care, Westfield, Chautauqua Co., NY, at age 70.

James “Jim” Paul Holcomb, 70, of Mayville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Absolut Care of Westfield.

He was born April 14, 1951, in Westfield, N.Y., the son of the late Paul W. and Viola C. Hodas Holcomb.

Jim was a 1969 graduate of Mayville Central School. He had owned and operated Jim’s Garage in Hartfield for over 40 years where he worked as an auto mechanic.

He enjoyed building race cars, Fords, and collecting Ford racing cards.

Jim is survived by his three brothers: John Holcomb of Oakland, Calif., Thomas Holcomb of Mayville, and Phillip Holcomb of Cassadaga.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Ann Holcomb Carry.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St.) A Catholic committal service will be held in the Mayville Cemetery at 11a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021. Father Todd Remick will officiate.

     Eunice (?) was born circa 1817 at NY.

     Eldora Hoover married Percy Dudley Edward Holcombe, son of Horace Seaver Holcombe and Xollie Alfire Belveal, on 11 June 1919.¹

     Doris Lenore Ward was born on 2 November 1917 at Delia, Jackson Co., KS.¹ She married Percy Dudley Edward Holcombe, son of Horace Seaver Holcombe and Xollie Alfire Belveal, on 17 August 1940 at Shelton, WA.¹ Doris Lenore Ward died on 13 February 1973 at Roseburg, Douglas Co., OR, at age 55.¹ She was buried at Roseburg Memorial Gardens, Roseburg, OR.

Doris is apparently the daughter of Artie and Georgia Ward. This family was enumerated in the 1920 Adrianh, Jackson Co., KS, federal census. Artie ws a farmer age 38, Georgia was 38. In addition to Doris, age 2 years 2 months, other children in the household were Leola 16, Irene 14, Avis 7, and Artie 4 years 3 months.

     Iris Phyllis Holcombe was born on 29 March 1920.¹ She was the daughter of Percy Dudley Edward Holcombe and Eldora Hoover.¹ Iris Phyllis Holcombe married Earl Oliver Fergusson. Iris Phyllis Holcombe died on 2 August 2001 at Portland, Washington Co., OR, at age 81.¹

     Earl Oliver Fergusson was born on 25 February 1916 at Portland, Multnomah Co., OR.^1,2 He married Iris Phyllis Holcombe, daughter of Percy Dudley Edward Holcombe and Eldora Hoover. Earl Oliver Fergusson died on 29 December 2002 at Portland, Multnomah Co., OR, at age 86.^1,2

     Eleazor Everard was born in 1762. He married Elizabeth Grange on 26 October 1797. Eleazor Everard died on 21 August 1834. He was buried at Old Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, Sullivan Co., NY.

     Elizabeth Grange was born on 8 January 1775 at County Wicklow, Ireland. She married Eleazor Everard on 26 October 1797. Elizabeth Grange died in August 1845 at Bethel, Sullivan Co., NY, at age 70. She was buried at Old Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, Sullivan Co., NY.

     Carrie Onelia Yates was born on 11 August 1909 at Charles City, VA.^1,2 She married Norman Edward Fenton, son of Edward Dudley Fenton and Lula May Mott, on 26 March 1933.¹ Carrie Onelia Yates died on 8 July 2001 at Charles City, VA, at age 91.^1,2

     Norman Edward Fenton Jr. was born on 29 March 1935 at Newport News, VA.^1,2 He was the son of Norman Edward Fenton and Carrie Onelia Yates.¹ Norman Edward Fenton Jr. died on 15 October 1999 at Newport News, VA, at age 64.^1,2

     Robert Ewell Fenton was born on 29 January 1938 at Newport News, VA.^1,2 He was the son of Norman Edward Fenton and Carrie Onelia Yates.¹ Robert Ewell Fenton died on 6 November 1997 at Portsmouth, Isle of Wight Co, VA, at age 59.^1,2

     Joseph Mordecai Davis was born on 24 April 1907 at Surry, VA.¹ He married Eva May Fenton, daughter of Edward Dudley Fenton and Lula May Mott, on 2 July 1927.¹ Joseph Mordecai Davis died on 31 December 1986 at Newport News, VA, at age 79.¹

     Edward Joseph Davis was born on 12 September 1928.¹ He was the son of Joseph Mordecai Davis and Eva May Fenton.¹ Edward Joseph Davis died in 1941 at Newport News, VA.¹

     Benjamin Davis died circa 1937.¹ He was born circa 1937.¹ He was the son of Joseph Mordecai Davis and Eva May Fenton.¹

     Nancy Collins was born circa 1928.¹ She died on 26 September 1998.¹

     Mary Frances Platt was born on 12 May 1943 at Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC.^1,2 She died on 16 December 1996 at Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC, at age 53.^1,2
