     Nancy Holcombe was born in 1856 at OH. She was the daughter of Francis James Holcombe and Susan Donelson.

     Robert H. Holcombe was born in May 1858 at OH. He was the son of Francis James Holcombe and Susan Donelson. Robert H. Holcombe died on 9 July 1860 at Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH, at age 2. He was buried at Otsego Methodist Church Cemetery, Otsego, Muskingum Co., OH.

     John S. Abbott was born on 8 July 1820 at OH. He married Caroline M. Holcombe, daughter of James Holcombe and Electa Eno, on 21 November 1845 at Muskingum Co., OH. John S. Abbott died on 30 May 1875 at age 54. He was buried at Otsego Methodist Church Cemetery, Otsego, Muskingum Co., OH.

     Eunice Abbott was born in 1844. She was the daughter of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe.

     Oren Abbott was born in 1848. He was the son of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe.

     John Abbott was born in 1850. He was the son of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe.

     Amanda Abbott was born on 22 June 1854 at Muskingum Co., OH. She was the daughter of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe. Amanda Abbott died on 1 August 1854. She was buried at Otsego Methodist Church Cemetery, Otsego, Muskingum Co., OH.

     Sarah Abbott was born in 1855. She was the daughter of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe.

     Electa Abbott was born in 1858. She was the daughter of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe.

     William Abbott was the son of John S. Abbott and Caroline M. Holcombe.

     George's middle name is alternately reported as Norman or Newton. George N. Davis was born on 15 August 1828 at New Haven, New Haven Co., CT. He was the son of George N. Davis and Lucy Holcombe. George N. Davis married Mary Jane Holcombe, daughter of James Holcombe and Electa Eno, on 13 June 1852 at Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH.¹ George N. Davis died on 15 February 1899 at Ansley, Custer Co., NE, at age 70. He was buried at Ansley Cemetery, Ansley, Custer Co., NE.²

     Monroe Holcombe was born circa 2 February 1833.¹ He was the son of Amasa Holcombe and Almira Rice. Monroe Holcombe died on 17 February 1834 at Pleasant Valley, Dutchess Co., NY.

The only connection of this child to Amasa and Mary is the tombstone which lists parents, age and date of death. The cemetery is the Marshall Ground, at Salt Point, near the railroad track on the Marshall farm.

Further research is needed. This site lists the parents as Amasa and Mary. Either the mother's name was recorded incorrectly (Almira) or the date of Monroe's death has been incorrectly read, or this child is of another Amasa and Mary Holcombe. ¹

Florence Caroline Davis died on 1 January 1947 at Ansley, Custer Co., NE, at age 89. She was buried at Ansley Cemetery, Ansley, Custer Co., NE.

Bull, son of Squire Bull and Sarah Beard, circa 1879 at IA. Lucy Matilda Davis married Marquis D. Lafayette Bull, son of Squire Bull and Sarah Beard, on 25 May 1891 at Nevada, Story Co, IA. Lucy Matilda Davis died on 12 April 1940 at Clothe, Todd Co., MN, at age 81.

     Charles L. Davis was born on 30 January 1863 at IA. He was the son of George N. Davis and Mary Jane Holcombe. Charles L. Davis died on 24 September 1924 at Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE, at age 61. He died on 19 October 1924 at age 61.

     James Ellridge Davis was born on 24 November 1866 at IA. He was the son of George N. Davis and Mary Jane Holcombe. James Ellridge Davis died on 25 November 1951 at Clothe, Todd Co., MN, at age 85.

     William Frances Davis was born on 5 April 1872 at Marshalltown, Marshall Co., IA. He was the son of George N. Davis and Mary Jane Holcombe. William Frances Davis died on 13 December 1942 at Ansley, Custer Co., NE, at age 70.

     Janet Claire Johnson notes that twins Leondus and Lassie were born July 10, 1974 and died 1879. Leondus died of illness, Aug 15, 1879 and Lassie died when she fell off the haymow later that year. Leondis Davis was born on 16 July 1874 at IA. He was the son of George N. Davis and Mary Jane Holcombe. Leondis Davis died on 10 August 1874 at IA.

     Oscar H. Riney was born on 17 May 1827 at Louden Co., VA. He was the son of Thomas Riney and Catherine Chaney. Oscar H. Riney married Harriet A. Holcombe, daughter of James Holcombe and Electa Eno, on 31 May 1860 at Muskingum Co., OH.¹ Oscar H. Riney died on 17 December 1875 at Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH, at age 48. He was buried at Otsego Methodist Church Cemetery, Otsego, Muskingum Co., OH.

Oscar moved to Monroe, Ohio in 1851. He was a carpenter and an undertaker.


Oscan and Harriet were enumerated in the 1870 Monroe Twp, Muskingum Co., OH, federal census. He was a farmer, age 43, she was 35. Children in the household were James 9, Mary 6, Francis 5, Sarah R. 4, and Elnora 2. James Holcombe, age 84, was also in the household.

     Catherine Chaney was born circa 1795 at Maryland.¹

     Andrew A. Riney was born in 1871. He was the son of Oscar H. Riney and Harriet A. Holcombe. Andrew A. Riney died in 1938 at Monroe, Muskingum Co., OH. He was buried at Otsego Methodist Church Cemetery, Otsego, Muskingum Co., OH.

     Anna Riney was the daughter of Oscar H. Riney and Harriet A. Holcombe.

     Rose Amanda Riney was born on 8 November 1873 at Monroe Twp., Muskingum Co., OH. She was the daughter of Oscar H. Riney and Harriet A. Holcombe. Rose Amanda Riney married James Edward McLaughlin on 15 March 1905 at Monroe Twp., Muskingum Co., OH. Rose Amanda Riney died on 20 December 1956 at Mentor, Lake Co., OH, at age 83.

     James Edward McLaughlin was born on 2 January 1862 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA. He married Rose Amanda Riney, daughter of Oscar H. Riney and Harriet A. Holcombe, on 15 March 1905 at Monroe Twp., Muskingum Co., OH. James Edward McLaughlin died on 9 October 1948 at New Concord, Muskingum Co., OH, at age 86.

     Phyl notes that information from the Register of Marriage, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, shows his name as 'Orange'. He is a school teacher. Orren J. Holcombe was born in June 1866 at Muskingum Co., OH. He was the son of James Holcombe and Mary E. Palmer. Orren J. Holcombe married Melta L. Kinney on 21 February 1891 at Story Co., IA.

     Melta L. Kinney was born in August 1871. She married Orren J. Holcombe, son of James Holcombe and Mary E. Palmer, on 21 February 1891 at Story Co., IA.

     Mary (?) was born in February 1862 at IA. She married Henry Holcombe, son of Homer Holcombe and Ellen Foster, in 1880.

     Myrtle Holcombe was born in August 1882 at IA. She was the daughter of Henry Holcombe and Mary (?)

     Foster Holcombe was born in August 1892 at IA. He was the son of Henry Holcombe and Mary (?)
