     Thelma Annette Holcombe was born on 13 March 1902 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY. She was the daughter of Fred Blanc Holcombe and Sarah Edith Millen. Thelma Annette Holcombe married Lester Clay Cyphers on 3 December 1932 at Greene Co., OH.

     Florence Hopkins was born in 1869 at Argyle, Washington Co., NY.¹ She married Elliott Albert Holcombe, son of Elam Holcombe and Cornelia Perry, in 1890. Florence Hopkins married Charles Stilson on 13 March 1902 at Kingston, NY. Florence Hopkins died on 1 June 1905 at Argyle, Washington Co., NY.¹ She was buried at Hopkins Cemetery, Argyle, Washington Co., NY.¹

     Thelma Annette Holcombe was born on 2 March 1922 at Springfield, Clark Co., OH. She was the daughter of Fred Blanc Holcombe Jr. and Lenora Etta Cost. Thelma Annette Holcombe died on 5 February 1975 at Marion, Marion Co., OH, at age 52.

     Nellie E. Holcombe was born on 1 March 1891 at Washington Co., NY.¹ She was the daughter of Elliott Albert Holcombe and Florence Hopkins. Nellie E. Holcombe died on 8 July 1969 at Glenn Falls, Warren Co., NY, at age 78.¹ She was buried on 10 July 1969 at Corinth Rural Cemetery, Corinth, Saratoga Co., NY.¹

     Geraldine Eleanor Holcombe was born on 20 February 1920 at Springfield, Clark Co., OH. She was the daughter of Fred Blanc Holcombe Jr. and Lenora Etta Cost. Geraldine Eleanor Holcombe died on 7 October 2007 at Warrenton, Fauquier Co., VA, at age 87. She was buried at Mitchells Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mitchells, Culpeper Co., VA.¹

     Mildred Gladys Haggerty was born on 1 September 1919. She married Vernon Russell Holcombe, son of Fred Blanc Holcombe Jr. and Lenora Etta Cost. Mildred Gladys Haggerty died on 30 November 2014 at Raleigh, Wake Co., NC, at age 95. She was buried on 5 December 2014 at Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH.

Mildred Gladys Holcomb, 95, passed away on November 30,2014. She was a graduate of Miami School of Nursing, class of 1941. She enjoyed her career
in the nursing field, which allowed her to care for others.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Vernon R. Holcomb, brothers; Robert, Russell and Raymond. She is survived by her children; Jeanne Hess, Judith Turner, Jay Holcomb, and Joseph Holcomb and wife, Margot, grandchildren;Michael (Erica), Eric, Carrie (Keith), Philip (Jennifer), great-grandchildren; Guy, Ramsie, Devin, Summer, Onica, and Siera.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5,2014, 7:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. The family will receive friends one hour prior.

     Hazel Holcombe was born in April 1896 at Glenn Falls, Warren Co., NY.¹ She was the daughter of Elliott Albert Holcombe and Florence Hopkins.¹ Hazel Holcombe died in 1933 at Potsdam, St. Lawrence Co., NY.²

     Charles Stilson married Florence Hopkins on 13 March 1902 at Kingston, NY.

     Ruth Deis was born on 3 March 1919 at Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH. She married Fred Blanc Holcombe, son of Fred Blanc Holcombe Jr. and Lenora Etta Cost, circa 1939. Ruth Deis died on 8 June 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital at age 89.

     Emily A. Mack was born on 19 April 1831 at Batavia, Genesee Co., NY.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings.¹ Emily A. Mack married James Dowling French in 1852.^4,3 Emily A. Mack died on 15 November 1867 at age 36.¹ She was buried at Simons Cemetery, Ashtabula Co., OH.¹

     James Dowling French was born on 30 August 1833 at West Shenango Twp., Crawford Co., OH.¹ He married Emily A. Mack, daughter of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings, in 1852.^1,2 James Dowling French died on 12 November 1888 at age 55.¹ He was buried at Simons Cemetery, Ashtabula Co., OH.¹

     Inez A. Carpenter was born in 1906. She married Floyd Lee Holcombe, son of Fred Blanc Holcombe and Sarah Edith Millen, on 5 June 1926.

     Henry Mack was born on 21 May 1820 at Batavia, Genesee Co., NY.^1,2 He was the son of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings.¹ Henry Mack married Eliza Stewart.³ Henry Mack died on 23 November 1901 at Chesaning, Saginaw Co., MI, at age 81.¹

     Laura Moore was born on 11 November 1906.¹ She married Floyd Lee Holcombe, son of Fred Blanc Holcombe and Sarah Edith Millen, circa 1934.

     Salmon G. Mack was born on 20 March 1822 at Batavia, Genesee Co., NY.¹ He was the son of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings.¹ Salmon G. Mack married Lucy A. Leonard 29 Feb 1843.¹ Salmon G. Mack died on 6 September 1890 at age 68. He was buried at Middle Ridge Cemetery, Madison, Lake Co., OH.²

     Catharine Bates married Flavel A. Mack, son of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings.¹

     Andrew Leffingwell married Julia E. Mack, daughter of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings, in 1843.¹

     Washington W. Giddings was born on 29 March 1826.¹ He was the son of Lorrain Giddings and Desdemona Cowdry.¹ Washington W. Giddings was also known as William Washington Giddings.

     Almarina Mack was born on 2 April 1826 at Batavia, Genesee Co., NY.¹ She was the daughter of Ezra Mack and Julia Giddings.¹ Almarina Mack married Alva S. Stillman.¹

     Salmon Giddings was born on 5 March 1821 at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Lorrain Giddings and Desdemona Cowdry.¹ Salmon Giddings married Julia Theresa Howd on 20 September 1843 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT. Salmon Giddings died on 8 August 1913 at Atco, NJ, at age 92.²

BROKEN HIP FATAL TO NONOGENARIAN

Suffering from a broken hip, the identical injury that hastened the death of his wife several months ago, Salmn Giddings, aged 92 yeas, one of the earliest settlers of Atco, died peacefully yesterday. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Orville B. Tiffany, and a son Walter.

Mr. Giddings was from a notable Connecticut family, his brother representing that State in the United States Senate, and the deceased at one time being a member of the Legislature of that State. Mr. Giddings was one of the finest educated and best informed men in this section of the State and had traveled considerably.

He served as Posmaster at Atco for a number of years and severed seveal tgerms as Justice of the Peace. He was a member of Haddonfield Lodge, No. 130, F. and A. M. He was a member of the Universalist faith his brother-in-law being Rev. Mses Ballou, a noted Universalist divine.

The funeral will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from his late residence. Services will be conducted by Haddonfield Lodge, No. 30, F. and A. M. Interment will be made in Atco Cemetery.

     Melvena Sarah Giddings was born on 4 March 1823.¹ She was the daughter of Lorrain Giddings and Desdemona Cowdry.¹ Melvena Sarah Giddings married Fitch W. Burwell on 14 June 1848.¹ Melvena Sarah Giddings died on 10 October 1915 at age 92.² She was buried at North Village Cemetery, New Hartford, Litchfield Co., CT.²

     Salmon Giddings was born on 4 January 1816 at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Lorrain Giddings and Desdemona Cowdry.¹ Salmon Giddings died on 10 December 1819 at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT, at age 3.¹ He was buried at West Hartland Cemetery, Hartland, Hartford Co., CT.²

Moses Ballou on 8 June 1837 at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Almena Damaris Giddings died on 9 May 1896 at age 77.² She was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA.²

     Rev. Moses Ballou was born on 24 March 1811.¹ He married Almena Damaris Giddings, daughter of Lorrain Giddings and Desdemona Cowdry, on 8 June 1837 at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Rev. Moses Ballou died on 19 May 1879 at age 68. He was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA.

Moses Ballou (1811-1879), a son of David, started preaching Universalism in 1833, itinerating in the area around his home in Monroe, Massachusetts. He was considered a powerful preacher. After receiving fellowship in 1834, he settled in Bath, New Hampshire, 1835; Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1836-43; New York City (Fourth Universalist), 1843-45; Portsmouth again, 1845-48; Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1848-54; Hartford, Connecticut, 1854-57; Philadelphia (Second Universalist), 1857-59; New York City (Third Universalist), 1859-65; New Haven, Connecticut (supply preaching), 1865-66; and Philadelphia (Second Universalist again), 1866-72. In retirement in Atco, New Jersey, he preached to a small society that he had helped to found. In addition to writing for the Universalist Quarterly and other denominational papers, he wrote The Divine Character Vindicated (1854), a book subsidized by P. T. Barnum.
