erry S. Holcomb, 69, of Mount Eaton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Country Lawn Nursing Home In Navarre following a period of declining health.

He was born in Erbacon, WV on July 10, 1951 to Daniel Johnson and Lola Marie (Tharpe) Holcomb and married Brenda K. Hamrick on November 8, 1970.

Jerry spent over 44 years with the J.M. Smucker Company and with Brenda, raised his family as a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather. Jerry and Brenda stand together with Jesus now, as they skip rocks across the River Jordan.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jason (Michelle) Holcomb of Creston and Michael (Wendy) Holcomb of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Steven, Alex, Wyatt, Jack, Makenzie and Cooper; and a brother, Daniel Junior (Bub) of Erbacon, WV.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister (Emogene).

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-6 PM at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, Ohio where masks are mandatory and social distancing will occur.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Adams-Reed Funeral Home, 7000 Webster Road, Cowen, WV with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Erbacon, WV. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorial service for Dorman Wayne Holcomb Sr. will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the First Presbyterian Church. He died Thursday in his Vancouver home at age 73.

Mr. Holcomb, who was born in Valley County, Mont., had lived in Vancouver since 1925. He was a retired alloy control manager for the former Aluminum Company of America plant in Vancouver, where he had worked for 25 years until 1977.

Mr. Holcomb served in the Army Air Force Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he managed the former Brookside Block Co. and was a partner in the former B-D Sand & Gravel Co., both in Vancouver. After retiring from ALCOA, Mr. Holcomb helped his son, Dorman L., with his business, T Square Construction, in Vancouver.

Surviving Mr. Holcomb are his wife, Olive M; two sons, Dorman L. of Vancouver and Marine Corps Lt. Col. Ward A. of Alexandria, Va; a daughter, Sharon L. Holcomb Farnell of Moreno, Calif; a sister, Marjory McClure of Jacksonville, Ore; and seven grandchildren.

Private burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Holcomb's casket will be open until 8 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel.

Beloved husband, father and brother Dorman Ladd Holcomb passed away Sept. 15, 2020 of heart failure. He was born Dec. 15, 1946 to Dorman Holcomb and Olive Holcomb in Vancouver, WA. He graduated from Hudson's Bay High School and was an Eagle Scout of Troop 316.

He spent one year at Clark College and then joined the Army for three years; one year was spent in Vietnam. Dorman then went to Washington State University for three years and received a degree in architecture and construction.

Dorman had several jobs but in 1976, he founded T Square Remodeling and specialized in home remodeling. At first, he was the only carpenter, but went on to become a major salesperson for his company. He was in business for 32 years before retiring in 2008. Although he retired, Dorman still kept busy building various projects.

He thought highly of the Greater Clark County Rotary and was a long-time member. He received a Paul Harris Award. The Rotary helps many organizations such as Open House Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, People with Disabilities and many other endeavors. If it involved building something, Dorman was always willing to lend his expertise to Rotary. He also helped with projects at Friends of the Carpenter.

Dorman was a charter member of Cascade Presbyterian Church and helped to build the original church. He also helped to add classrooms. He was instrumental in helping to design the new sanctuary and was the liaison between the church and the construction company. For many years, he did maintenance and repairs for the church as well.

Dorman loved boating and was a long-time member of the U.S. Power Squadron. He taught classes on boating information and safety. Dorman and his wife, Sue, spent many vacations in the San Juan Islands and the Olympic Peninsula on their boats. He had many interests which included skiing, boating, golfing, hunting and fishing.

Dorman was always optimistic, positive, really liked people and socializing with everyone. He always had a good sense of humor.

Dorman is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue; two sons, Ty Holcomb and his wife, Lisa, of Seattle, WA, and Lang Holcomb and his wife, Sara, of Vancouver; brother, Ward Holcomb and his wife, Cassy of Battle Ground, WA; and sister, Sharon Holcomb and husband, Fred Farnell of Michigan. He had four grandchildren, Katalina, Zander, Xavier and Max; numerous nephews and nieces, Michael, Rebecca, Ariane, Mathew, Patrick, Josh, Tanner, Emily and Alex.

He worked as a chef for the Tricomi family and Mendel family restaurants in Albany. NATIVE OF IDAHO. He was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Emmett, Idaho, to William Newton and Erna Elise Steinmann Holcomb. He attended school in Emmett through the fourth grade. His family then moved to Ashton where he finished grade school and graduated from Ashton High School in 1948. He married Donna Quinn Davis on Aug. 16, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Donna died on Sept. 10, 1990.

FARMER. Tom worked farming for Jack Steinman and Dan Reimann until he and Donna purchased their own farm in 1956. They raised potatoes and grain. In 1988, he retired from farming. After retiring, he and Donna enjoyed traveling. He loved fishing and spent a lot of time fishing with his friends and family. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 14, 1991, and enjoyed his association with the members of his ward.

SURVIVORS. He is survived by his children, Thomas Quinn (Deborah) Holcomb of Idaho Falls, Kathleen (Jerry) Johnson of Idaho Falls; a brother, Jim (Ona Lee) Holcomb of Ashton; four granddaughters, Stephanie, Marci, Kristen and Jaime; four grandsons, Drex, Curtis, Cory and Jeremy; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, four sisters and a brother.

SERVICES. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Ashton 4th Ward Chapel with Bishop James Hawkes officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main Street, in Ashton and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Pineview Cemetery.

Thomas "Tom" Quinn Holcomb of Idaho Falls passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and four daughters, on April 30, 2020 of natural causes. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Tom was kind, loving and devoted to his family. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a man of integrity and honor, always willing to serve others. Tom was born to Tom and Donna Holcomb on May 4, 1950 in Ashton, ID. His childhood days were spent helping on the family farm, and in his free time, hunting and fishing. Tom graduated from North Fremont High School in 1968 as a four-year letterman in basketball and football. During his senior year, Tom met and fell in love with Deborah Harrigfeld. They married on July 10, 1970 in Ashton, ID. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. They attended the University of Idaho until Tom graduated in 1972. Following graduation, they returned to Southeast Idaho and started a family. Together they raised their four wonderful daughters. Over the years, they created a family devoted to one another. They enjoyed time together; camping, watching movies, taking family trips, boating, and above all, just being together. Tom and Deb were a constant support to their children and grandchildren. They spent countless hours attending activities no matter how big or small. Tom and Deb loved watching dance recitals, baseball, basketball, and volleyball games, concerts, and many other events. Tom was known for his strong work ethic and took pride in his long career at Jensen Distribution Services as a Territory Manager in Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. He made lasting connections with his customers while helping them build their businesses. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors, whether he was fishing in Alaska or hunting in the mountains of Idaho. He was known to tackle any problem and could fix anything. Always willing to lend a helping hand. Tom's sense of humor was unmatched. We were often left wondering if his stories were serious or not, until his smirk gave him away. Tom is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Deborah; daughters Stephanie (Tyler) Gazdik, and Marci (Greg Guza) Holcomb both of Idaho Falls, ID and Kristen (John) Hall of Park City, UT and Jaime Holcomb of South Jordan, UT; grandchildren, Jacob Thomas Holcomb, Hannah and Camden Hall, Addisyn, Mitchell, and Emersyn Guza; and sister Kathy Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main St. in Ashton, ID. Jackie Tichnell Holcomb, 84, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at his daughter's residence in Mannington. He was born in Fairmont on November 25, 1935, a son of the late Henderson Holcomb and Marguerite Tichnell Holcomb.

Jackie was a Christian by faith. He was a veteran with the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Bennington. Jackie retired in 1982 from Owens Illinois with over 26 years of service as a machine repairer and shift mechanic. Upon retirement he then worked for the Marion County Board of Education in the maintenance department until 1997.

Jackie enjoyed fishing at his camp at Tygart Lake in Grafton. He was a hard worker long into his retirement years. Jackie loved all animals, but especially his dog "Pebbles". He loved play Canasta with his step-daughters and telling jokes with anyone he could. He loved most spending time with this grandchildren and great-grandchildren who fondly referred to him as "Pap Jack".

Jackie is survived by his step-children, Walter Holbert and his wife Carol of Florida, Karon Corbin and her husband Randall of Fairmont, James Daniel Holbert and his wife Althea of Fairmont, and Brenda Fluharty of Mannington; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanie Urso of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dantia Stout Holcomb, whom he married on June 19, 1973; two step-daughters, Linda Starr Brewer and Ann Marie Goss; step-father, Alfred Bartholow; three brothers, James Holcomb, David Holcomb, and Donnie Holcomb; a sister, JoAnn Bolinger; and a son-in-law, Gary Fluharty.

Memorial donations may be made to the Marion County Humane Society, P.O. Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26555.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. unit 8 p.m. and on Thursday, December 12, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 11 a.m with Reverend Bill Toothman officiating. A committal service will follow at Pisgah Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Council.

Charles S. Terrell Rites Here Sunday
Funeral services for Charles S. [umner] Terrell, who died in the Municipal hospital, Clarinda, Friday, May 2, were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home, Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. Kenneth Miller was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Lexington cemetery, with the Odd Fellows lodge in charge.

Charles Sumner Terrell, son of the late L. [ycurgus] L. [awrence] and Nancy Elizabeth Hutson Terrell was born Dec. 2, 1880 at Bedford, Iowa and died May 2, 1958 at the age of 77 years and 5 months.

He was united in marriage to Olive L. [ea] Hanson Oct. 28, 1903. To this union, seven children were born. One daughter, Alice Edna, preceded him in death. Two brothers and one sister are deceased.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters and two sons: [Gladys] Mayre, Mrs. Paul Harland, Clarinda; Jean [Olive], Mrs. Leonard Horton, Lincoln, Nebr; [Myrtle] Mildred, Mrs. Albert Strand, Salt Lake City, Utah; Doris [Dorothy], Mrs. Wilber Young, Bedford; [Charles] Kendall Terrell, Bedford; Ivan [Alan] Terrell, Creston.

Also surviving are two daughters-in-law and four sons-in-law; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Mr. Terrell was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Odd Fellows Lodge of Bedford.

He was engaged in farming east of Bedford until 1935 when he moved to town to establish a plumbing business, from which he has been retired for several years.

He was a devoted husband and father to the family he leaves, and one who took pride in being a good neighbor.

Services will be at 1)30 am Monday at First United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Graveside services will be at 3:30 pm Monday at Fairview Cemeery in Bedford.

Mr. Terrell was born near Bedford and had lived in Bedford and Creston before moving to Indianola in 1974. He was agency manager of Barm Bureau Insurance Co., in Warren County. He was a member of Taylor Lodge in Bedford, American Legion, Veterans of Foreigh Wars in Creston, South Centgral Life Underwriters and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Karon, two daughters, Elizabeth Terrell and Alice Terrell, both of Indianola; a son, Michael of Bettendorf, two sisters, Jean Horton of Lijcoln, Neb., and Mildred Trafton of Seattle, Wash; and three grandchildren.

Olive Lea Hanson, daughter of Monroe Hanson and Anna Hosford Hanson, was born in Hamilton, Ill., on April 21, 1885. At the age of seven, she came with her parents, brother Roy and sister Myrtle, to the Conway community, where her father was engaged in farming and the lumber business. Later they moved to Bedford.

On Oct. 28, 1903 she was united in marriage to Charles [Sumner] Terrell of Bedford. To this union were born seven children.

Her husband and one daughter, Alice [Edna], preceded her in death.

She leaves with memories her two sons, [Charles] Kendall and Ivan [Alan] of Bedford; four daughters, Marie [Mayre] Harland of Clarinda; Jean Horton of Lincoln, Nebr; Mildred Strand of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Doris Mothershead of Gravity; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law; four sons-in-law; a niece and nephew of Riverside, Calif., and one cousin and family of Lenox.

Mrs. Terrell was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Bedford for over 50 years.
