Ruth Gillet1

b. 6 April 1750, d. 27 November 1834
Ruth Gillet was born on 6 April 1750 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Gillett and Elizabeth Hayes. Ruth Gillet married Noadiah Kendall, son of Ebenezer Kendall and Mehitable Holcombe, circa 1772 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Ruth Gillet died on 27 November 1834 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 84.1 She was buried at West Granby Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT; no stone.1

Carol Laun writes:

There is no proof that Noadiah Kendall married Ruth Gillet. We have proof that Ruth Gillet was born and proof that Ruth w/o Noadiah Kendall died. The Gillet genealogy by Wilma Thomas says she was Ruth Gillet d/o Joseph and Elizabeth (Hayes) Gillett, but her source is a book by Kendall Laughlin, The Descendants of William Kendall of Ashford, CT and Caledonia Co. VT pub. 1955 To me, the proof may be circumstantial, but the fact that they named one of their daughters Gillett Kendall is a pretty strong clue. Unfortunately, Joseph Gillett did not name his daughters in his will. I would at least list her as “probably d/o Joseph and Elizabeth (Hayes) Gillett.”.
