     The questionable Thomas. Could of had descendents. If so his children would probably be at Lyme Regis or Ashburton where his mother resided in 1538. Is he the one of St. Sidwells, with wives __Pearse and Elizabeth Boaden? Thomas Holcombe was born circa 1480. He was the son of William Holcombe.

     (?) Prideaux was the daughter of Humphrey Prideau and (?) Bevil. (?) Prideaux married (?) Holcombe, son of William Holcombe.

     Humphrey Prideau was the son of Richard Pridex. Humphrey Prideau married (?) Bevil.

     Sister of William Bevil of Killingarth in Cornwall. (?) Bevil married Humphrey Prideau, son of Richard Pridex.

     Edith Cambbell was born on 22 August 1780 at MA. She married Roswell Holcombe, son of Enoch Holcombe and Abigail Moseley. Edith Cambbell died on 6 May 1861 at Rootstown, OH, at age 80.

     William Abbot Holcombe was born on 4 September 1804 at Westfield, MA. He was the son of Roswell Holcombe and Edith Cambbell. William Abbot Holcombe married Lydia Olmstead on 9 September 1826. William Abbot Holcombe died on 4 April 1907 at Ravenna, Portage Co., OH, at age 102.

"William left home with pioneers for the Western Reserve on Conn. in N. Ohio, which was granted to sufferers from the ravages of the American Revolution as fought in present Conn. It is located along the southern shore of Lake Erie and to-day preserves a distinctive reminder of New england. His pilgrimage ended at Rootstown (New Milford P.O.), Portage Co., O. Apr. 21, 1821 where he is recorded with his family in 1840 and 1850 Censuses as stone-cutter owning $4,100 real estate. He became a contractor for construction of buildings and later of R.R. bridges. He attended the Holcombe reunion at Mt. Airy (Lambertville), N.J. Aug 11, 1886. His grandch. were then holding a reunion at home in Ohio. He returned to Mr. Airy, N.J. Aug. 12, 1891 from his home then at Ravenna, O. for the 3rd Holcombe reunion, being then 87 years old."

William A. and Lydia were enumerated in the 1850 Rootstown, Portage Co., OH, federal census. He was a stonecutter, age 46; she was 42. Children in the household were Wanser 22, Alexis 19, Albert 15, Lydia 11, Hiram 9, Jannett 7, and Lucy B. 5. Mother Edith, age 69, was also in the household.

William and Lydia were enumerated in the 1860 Rootstown, Portage Co., OH, federal census. He was a farmer age 55, she was 52. Children in the household were Lydia 21, Jenet 17, Hiram P. 19, and Lucy B. 15. Mother Edith age 80 was also in the household.

William and Lydia were enumerated in the 1870 Ravenna, Portage Co., OH, federal census. He was a builder, age 65, she was 63. There was no one else in the household.

William and Lydia were eumerated in the 1880 Ravenna, Protage Co., OH, federal census. He was a brick mason, age 75, she was 72. Son Hiram age 39 was in the household with wife Sylvia and daughter Ethel.

"Lydia was a Quaker of New Milford, Mass., whose parents and brothers moved to Rootstown, Portage Co., O." Lydia Olmstead was born on 26 March 1808. She married William Abbot Holcombe, son of Roswell Holcombe and Edith Cambbell, on 9 September 1826. Lydia Olmstead died on 23 July 1884 at age 76.

     Albert Holcombe was born on 12 December 1834 at Brookstown, OH. He was the son of William Abbot Holcombe and Lydia Olmstead. Albert Holcombe married Eliza E. Jennings, daughter of Solomon Jennings and Susan Price, on 2 December 1857. Albert Holcombe died on 25 July 1900 at Springfield, Clark Co., OH, at age 65.

     Eliza E. Jennings was born on 26 May 1837 at Franklin Mills, OH. She was the daughter of Solomon Jennings and Susan Price. Eliza E. Jennings married Albert Holcombe, son of William Abbot Holcombe and Lydia Olmstead, on 2 December 1857. Eliza E. Jennings died on 27 March 1919 at Springfield, Clark Co., OH, at age 81.

     Albert Wanzer Holcombe was born on 30 May 1868 at Portage Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Albert Holcombe and Eliza E. Jennings. Albert Wanzer Holcombe married Grace M. Wagner, daughter of John M. Wagner and Elizabeth E. Youtz, on 7 February 1893. Albert Wanzer Holcombe died on 8 November 1953 at Cuyahoga Falls, OH, at age 85.

It appears to be Albert and Grace who were enumerated in the 1900 Akron, Summit Co., OH, federal census, ED 76. They were living at 106 Chamberlain St; he was a carpenter, age 32, she was 27. They had been married 7 year and had one child, Albert W. 6.

     Grace M. Wagner was born on 23 January 1873 at Springfield, Clark Co., OH. She was the daughter of John M. Wagner and Elizabeth E. Youtz. Grace M. Wagner married Albert Wanzer Holcombe, son of Albert Holcombe and Eliza E. Jennings, on 7 February 1893. Grace M. Wagner died on 24 October 1937 at Akron, Summit Co., OH, at age 64.

     Herbert Carroll Holcombe was born on 26 November 1900 at Akron, Summit Co., OH. He was the son of Albert Wanzer Holcombe and Grace M. Wagner. Herbert Carroll Holcombe married Lilian Mary Fletcher, daughter of Charles Frederick Fletcher and Mary Ann Shearsmith, on 5 June 1922. Herbert Carroll Holcombe died on 14 May 1932 at Cuyahoga Falls, OH, at age 31.

     Lilian Mary Fletcher was born on 30 January 1903 at Ecclesall Bierlow, England. She was the daughter of Charles Frederick Fletcher and Mary Ann Shearsmith. Lilian Mary Fletcher married Herbert Carroll Holcombe, son of Albert Wanzer Holcombe and Grace M. Wagner, on 5 June 1922. Lilian Mary Fletcher died on 3 July 1993 at Washington, DC, at age 90.

     Charles Frederick Fletcher was born on 21 April 1857 at Ecclesall Bierlow, England. He was the son of Henry Fletcher and Martha Green. Charles Frederick Fletcher married Mary Ann Shearsmith, daughter of Edwin Shearsmith and Mary Ann Tonge, on 3 December 1900. Charles Frederick Fletcher died on 2 January 1947 at Akron, Summit Co., OH, at age 89.

     Mary Ann Shearsmith was born Januray 21, 1876 at Hull, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of Edwin Shearsmith and Mary Ann Tonge. Mary Ann Shearsmith married Charles Frederick Fletcher, son of Henry Fletcher and Martha Green, on 3 December 1900. Mary Ann Shearsmith died on 14 November 1927 at Akron, Summit Co., OH.

     Henry Fletcher was the son of William Fletcher. Henry Fletcher married Martha Green, daughter of Robert Green, on 2 December 1845.

     Martha Green was the daughter of Robert Green. Martha Green married Henry Fletcher, son of William Fletcher, on 2 December 1845.

     Edwin Shearsmith was born on 14 January 1845 at Hull, Yorkshire, England. He was the son of John Shearsmith and Jane Nequest. Edwin Shearsmith married Mary Ann Tonge, daughter of Cornelius Tong and Mary Ann Smith, on 20 November 1873. Edwin Shearsmith died on 22 September 1893 at Hull, Yorkshire, England, at age 48.

     Mary Ann Tonge was born on 26 November 1853 at Immingham, England. She was the daughter of Cornelius Tong and Mary Ann Smith. Mary Ann Tonge married Edwin Shearsmith, son of John Shearsmith and Jane Nequest, on 20 November 1873.

     John Shearsmith married Jane Nequest.

     Jane Nequest married John Shearsmith.

     Cornelius Tong married Mary Ann Smith.

     Mary Ann Smith married Cornelius Tong.

     John M. Wagner married Elizabeth E. Youtz. John M. Wagner was born in December 1848 at Springfield, Clark Co., OH.

     Elizabeth E. Youtz married John M. Wagner. Elizabeth E. Youtz was born in September 1849 at OH.

     Solomon Jennings married Susan Price.

     Susan Price married Solomon Jennings.

     Wiliam Bevill Sir was born circa 1525. He was the son of Robert Bevill.

     Robert Bevill was the son of William Bevill.

     William Bevill was born between 1465 and 1485. He was the son of William Bevill.

     William Bevill was the son of Thomas Bevill.

     Thomas Bevill was born between 1394 and 1423.

     Tristram Holcombe was born in 1536. He was the son of Ellis Holcombe and Elizabeth Suydenham.

     He named Robert Chowne my cousin and Thomas Monley to be overseers. His seal was a swan. Will exhibited 23 August 1627 by Welthian Holcombe als Butson, ex.


Robert couild have had descendants. Bowman thinks perhaps he is the Robert with wife Phyllis of Halberton who left a 1627 will naming the following descendants. Robert Holcombe was the son of Ellis Holcombe and Elizabeth Suydenham. Robert Holcombe died.

     Not on Vivian. Mary Holcombe was the daughter of Ellis Holcombe and Elizabeth Suydenham. Mary Holcombe died in 1617.

     The second of his name, is listed on the Harry and Walter chart and in English records, but the birth of Wilmot seems rather late in his life. Tristian Holcombe was born in 1544. He was the son of Ellis Holcombe and Elizabeth Suydenham. Tristian Holcombe married Georgiana Porter. Tristian Holcombe died in 1564.

     Alternate spelling: Potter. Georgiana Porter married Tristian Holcombe, son of Ellis Holcombe and Elizabeth Suydenham.

     The following children are listed in Branscombe, Devon, records. There is also a John born in 1604 in Sandford, Devon who married Elenor Harwood, and a John born in 1648 in Sandford, Devon. John Holcombe was born in 1540. He was the son of Ellis Holcombe and Elizabeth Suydenham. John Holcombe married Mary Chidley in 1561.
