     Samuel Taylor married Tirzah Holcombe, daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler, in 1786.

     Seaver lists a daughter, Lydia here; Bowman lists Lydia also and gives her a birth date of 1752 but claims she is daughter of Enoch II, who was born in 1748. Bowman also lists a daughter of Enoch II, named Lydia. Lydia Holcombe was born in 1752. She was the daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Bowman suggests she might have married Moses Griswold. Anna Holcombe was born on 2 August 1756 at Westfield, MA. She was the daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler. Anna Holcombe died on 11 March 1852 at age 95.

     Seaver lists Hannah, Bowman lists her but doesn't acknowledge her with a number. Hannah Holcombe was born on 24 January 1760 at Westfield, MA. She was the daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler. Hannah Holcombe died on 25 November 1800 at age 40.

     Seaver lists Nancy, Bowman doesn't even mention her. Nancy Holcombe was born in 1762. She was the daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Shubal Holcombe died. He was born in 1764 at Westfield, MA. He was the son of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Abigail Holcombe was born in 1769. She was the daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Bowman notes that some of the children listed probably belong to Horace II. Horace Holcombe was born in 1772. He was the son of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler. Horace Holcombe married Roxanna Shepard, daughter of Gideon Shepard and Silence Noble, on 24 January 1799.⁴

     Roxanna Shepard was born on 4 February 1781 at Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Gideon Shepard and Silence Noble. Roxanna Shepard married Horace Holcombe, son of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler, on 24 January 1799.¹ Roxanna Shepard died on 30 December 1839 at age 58.¹

     Cynthia Holcombe was the daughter of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Roswell Holcombe was the son of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Abigail Moseley married Enoch Holcombe, son of Enoch Holcombe and Ann(a) Fowler.

     Roswell Holcombe was born in 1784 at Westfield, MA. He was the son of Enoch Holcombe and Abigail Moseley. Roswell Holcombe married Edith Cambbell.

     Enoch Drake was born on 5 May 1683 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Enoch Drake and Sarah Porter. Enoch Drake married Elizabeth Barber, daughter of Lt. Josiah Barber and Abigail Loomis, on 20 April 1704 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² Enoch Drake married Dorcas Eggleston on 6 May 1719. Enoch Drake died on 17 November 1776 at Wintonbury (now Bloomfield), CT, at age 93.³

     Elizabeth Barber was born at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Lt. Josiah Barber and Abigail Loomis. Elizabeth Barber married Enoch Drake, son of Enoch Drake and Sarah Porter, on 20 April 1704 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³ Elizabeth Barber died on 2 April 1717.

     Symon de Holcombe was the son of Thomas de Holcombe.

     Lydia Porter married Matthew Holcombe, son of Ensign Joshua Holcombe and Hannah Carrington.

     Sarah Newton was born in 1767 or 1768. She married Luther Holcombe, son of Matthew Holcombe and Lydia Porter, in 1819. Sarah Newton died on 21 January 1855.

     Ezra Holcombe was born on 6 April 1788. He was the son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg. Ezra Holcombe died in 1873.

This Ezra is duplicated as a son of Ezra and Phoebe Gillet, Bowman 81281, Weir A-8-1-2-9-1, Seaver 223.1; Ezra will be continued under those lines.

     Hariph Holcombe was born in 1789. He was the son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg. Hariph Holcombe died in 1865.

     Friendly Rensley Holcombe was born on 1 October 1795. He was the son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg.

     Lloyd Holmes Holcombe was born on 27 July 1797. He was the son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg. Lloyd Holmes Holcombe married Sarah Stevens.

Lloyd was enumerated in the 1840 Conventry, Chenango Co., NY, federal census. He was enumerated next to brother Hariph. There were three male children and one female child.

     Sarah Stevens married Lloyd Holmes Holcombe, son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg.

     Erastus Holcombe was born on 1 September 1784 at Danbury, Fairfield Co., CT. He was the son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg. Erastus Holcombe married Phebe Newton. Erastus Holcombe married Sarah W. (?) Erastus Holcombe died on 23 August 1871 at Sparta, Cortland Co., NY, at age 86. He was buried at Clinton Center Cemetery, Wayne Co., PA.³

Erastus moved to Chenango Co., NY, living first at Coventry and later at Bainbridge. Both wives of Erastus have inscribed gravestones in Chapel cemetery, Coventry, NY. ⁴


Erastus is recorded in the 1850 Colesville, Broome Co., NY, federal census, page 24, age 65, a farmer, born in CT, in the household of his son Edwin.

Erastur was enumerated in the 1880 Clinton, Wayne Co., PA, federal census, age 85, in the household of his son Edwin.

     Phebe Newton was born in 1750. She married Erastus Holcombe, son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg. Phebe Newton died on 23 February 1814 at Coventry, Chenango Co., NY.¹

     Sarah W. (?) was born in 1792. She married Erastus Holcombe, son of Luther Holcombe and Joanna Kellogg. Sarah W. (?) died on 13 August 1851.¹ She was buried at Chapel Cemetery, Coventry, Chenango Co., NY.

     Sophia C. Holcombe was born on 17 November 1799. She was the daughter of Horace Holcombe and Roxanna Shepard.

     The marriage records of Ashtabula Co., OH from LDS Film #0890264, transcribed by Carol Page Tilson, indicate that a Theron Holcomb married Polly Bond on 15 jan 1828. Theron Holcombe was born circa 1803 at CT or MA.¹ He was the son of Eli Holcombe and Susan Sweet.

     Peleg S. Holcombe was born in 1805 at CT or MA.² He was the son of Eli Holcombe and Susan Sweet. Peleg S. Holcombe married Elvira Woodberry on 3 December 1832.¹

The marriage records of Ashtabula Co., OH from LDS Film #0890264, transcribed by Carol Page Tilson, indicate that a Peleg S. Holcomb married Alvira M. Woodbury on 3 Dec 1832.


Peleg was enumerated in the 1850 Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co., OH federal census. He was a farmer age 44, born in OH. The names of his wife and 6 children are nearly illegible but appear to be Elvira 39, Rollin 18, Eli 14, Norton 12, Mary Ann 8, Orrin 4, and Ellen 2.

     Roman Philo Holcombe was born in 1809 at Ashtabula Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Eli Holcombe and Susan Sweet. Roman Philo Holcombe married Amanda M. (?)² Roman Philo Holcombe died on 21 December 1847 at Jalapa, Mexico.¹

Roman Philo enlisted at Belvidere, Boon Co., Ill. June 4, 1847 as a drummer in Co. E. 2nd Ill. Regt., Capt. William Shepherd, or Collins. ³


Orren Heber and Eli Chelsea are recorded in the 1850 Census of Ashtabula, O., living with their grandparents, Eli and Susan (Sweet) Holcomb. Newly re-married Amanda and husband Demley Kerger were recorded in Boone with Alice and Roman. ³

     Roxana Holcombe was the daughter of Luther Holcombe and JoAnna Beebe.

     Child Holcombe was the child of Luther Holcombe and JoAnna Beebe.

     Solomon Buell was born on 1 February 1757 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Solomon Buell and Lydia Case. Solomon Buell married Charlotte Woodford in 1786.¹ Solomon Buell married Lucy Case, daughter of Amos Case and Mary Holcombe, on 11 August 1803.² Solomon Buell died on 19 January 1835 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 77.¹

     Lydia Buell was born on 28 March 1759 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Capt. Solomon Buell and Lydia Case. Lydia Buell died on 27 April 1759.¹

     Sarah Buell was born on 9 June 1760 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Capt. Solomon Buell and Lydia Case. Sarah Buell married Hosea Case, son of Hosea Case and Mary Case, on 13 December 1787 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.³ Sarah Buell died on 9 May 1838 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 77.²
