"He was admitted to the Windsor Church Oct. 11, 1640. On May 3, 1643, he had granted him from the Plantation 40 acres of land. he resided in Farmington from 1652 to 1660, when he returned to Windsor, and was Deacon fo the church. He was deputy to the General Ct. in 1666 and '7, also from 1675 to 1687. His monument is still preserved in the Windsor burying ground. His will is preserved in the Probate office at Hartford, and his name is signed John Loomys." 5

Jonathan Buel's will (Litchfield Probate District records, #1072, town of Goshen, on microfilm at the CT State Library, Hartford, CT) states "I appoint Lidia, my loving wife, and my two eldest sons, Jesse & Jonathan, my Excutors to Execute this my last Will and testament."

The will, written 2 March 1793, also states that he has "five sons and three daughters." However, I believe there were 10 children, two of which were deceased at the time of the writing of the will.
