     Elijah Boardman was the son of Joshua Boardman and Amy Case. Elijah Boardman died in 1771.

     Mary Boardman was the daughter of Joshua Boardman and Amy Case.

     Hannah Boardman was the daughter of Joshua Boardman and Amy Case.

     Samuel Case Jr. was born on 24 January 1695 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Samuel Case Jr. was baptized on 21 November 1697 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 He married Eunice Burr, daughter of John Burr and Sarah (?), on 5 July 1728 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Samuel Case Jr. died on 23 September 1768 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 73. Ruth Cost Duncan cites the Simsbury Vital Records and the Wintonbury Church Records. Ms. Duncan also supplied corrections and updates to her book that offer additons to information on Eunice.

     Don Barber notes an error in his book. Thomas Barber married Mercy/Marcy. Mary Barber, Mercy's sister, married John Drake and then Josiah Alford. Mary Case was born on 15 November 1697 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Mary Case was baptized on 21 November 1697 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 She married John Drake, son of John Drake and Mary Watson, on 20 April 1721 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Mary Case married Josiah Alford, son of Josiah Alford and Hannah Westover, on 20 October 1726 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Mary Case died on 12 November 1781 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 83.

     Abigail Case was born on 21 February 1701/2 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Abigail Case died in infancy.

     Nathaniel Case was born on 26 April 1702 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Nathaniel Case married Miriam Burr, daughter of John Burr and Sarah (?). Nathaniel Case died on 8 June 1753 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 51.

Ruth Cost Duncan cites the Simsbury Vital Records and the Wintonbury Church records. She also provided corrections that indicate that Miriam is the daughter of John, not Nathaniel Burr. Thus she is the sister of her husband's brother's wife Eunice.

     Eunice Case was born in July 1703 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Eunice Case married Jeremiah Stratton, son of William Stratton and Abigail Moore, on 12 December 1728 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Ruth Cost Duncan cites the Simsbury Vital Records. Jonas Case was born in August 1704 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Jonas Case married Martha Phelps. Jonas Case died in 1744.

     Ruth Cost Duncan cites the Wintonbury Church Record. Caleb Case was born at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Caleb Case died on 10 May 1746 at Louisburg.

     Azrikrim Case was MOVE at New Jersey. He was born on 16 February 1709 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Samuel Case and Mary Westover.

     Pelatiah Case was the son of Samuel Case and Mary Westover. Pelatiah Case died in 1733.

     Salina Holcombe was born on 6 October 1795 at Village of North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Adonijah Holcombe and Charity Gillett.¹ Salina Holcombe married Selah Dibble, son of Abraham Dibble and Theodosia Griffin, on 26 November 1818 at Village of North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Salina Holcombe died on 13 March 1892 at Smithfield, PA, at age 96. She was buried at East Smithfield Cemetery, East Smithfield, Bradford Co., PA.²

The young couple soon (after marriage) went as pioneers to Colesville, Broome Co., NY by wagon on which was packed their household goods, crossing the Hudson river by wire ferry at Hudson, NY. At Hudson they soon entered the wilds of NY and went on roads only marked by blazed trees and from thence were nearly two weeks in getting to their new home and there for many years lived in a log cabin, while her husband cleared the land on which to farm. She came with her husband to Bradford Co., in 1849 and resided in Smithfield until the death of her husband in 1876. In a grand degree she was a woman of superior mind and body; was about 5 feet 8 inches tall with dark complexion and hazel eyes and the most dignified bearing.


Selah and Salina were enumerated in the 1850 Smithfield, Bradford Co., PA, federal census. He was a farmer age 57, she was 55. Children in the household were a daughter 14 and Patricia 10, both born in NY.


“Peter” and Salena were enumerated in the 1860 Smithfield, Bradford Co., PA, federal census. He was 66, she was 64. They lived next door to J. G. Fletcher and Mary.

     Selah Dibble was born in 1794 at Village of North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Abraham Dibble and Theodosia Griffin. Selah Dibble married Salina Holcombe, daughter of Adonijah Holcombe and Charity Gillett, on 26 November 1818 at Village of North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Selah Dibble died on 19 September 1876 at Smithfield, PA. He was buried at Old Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, PA.

     Pastor of the First Congregational Church, 1794-1832. Rev. Isaac Porter was born on 1 August 1766.¹ He witnessed the marriage of Salina Holcombe and Selah Dibble on 26 November 1818 at Village of North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Emily Hillyer married Nathaniel Eggleston, son of Samuel Eggleston and Dorcas Loomis, on 1 May 1821 at First Congregational Church, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² Rev. Isaac Porter witnessed the marriage of Dr. Jairus Case and Mary Theresa Higley on 5 October 1830 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.^3,4,5 Rev. Isaac Porter died on 14 April 1844 at age 77.¹

     Samuel Barber was born on 6 March 1740 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. Samuel Barber married Eunice Cowles, daughter of Samuel Cowles and Abigail (?), on 24 March 1762 at Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT. Samuel Barber left a will at Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT. He died in 1779. He was buried in January 1779 at Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT.

     Timothy and Keturah had no children. Don Babber cites his will, 1817. Timothy Barber was born on 21 March 1742 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. Timothy Barber died on 12 April 1817 at Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 75.

     Joseph Barber was born on 12 August 1744 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. Joseph Barber married Leah Grover. Joseph Barber died on 31 December 1807 at Pownal, VT, at age 63.

     Leah Grover was born between 1757 and 1758. She married Joseph Barber, son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. Leah Grover died on 5 January 1811 at Cambridge, Lamoille Co., VT.

     DAR record number 19307. David Barber was born on 12 July 1746 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. David Barber married Sarah Lawrence, daughter of Samuel Lawrence and Patience Bigelow. David Barber died on 2 May 1783 at age 36.

     Elijah Barber was born on 25 July 1748 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. Elijah Barber married Sarah Pettibone, daughter of Abel Pettibone and Elizabeth Case, circa 1774. Elijah Barber died on 13 December 1820 at age 72.²

Elijah and Sarah were second cousins once removed, beig descedants of Lt. Samuel Humphrey and Mary Mills.

     Elmer Alderman was born in 1864.¹ He was the son of Whitelsey P. Alderman and Emaline Norton.¹

     Ezekiel Barber was born on 12 April 1750 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey.² Ezekiel Barber married Elizabeth Goddard, daughter of Ebenezer Goddard and Elizabeth (?), on 15 January 1779 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT.² Ezekiel Barber died in 1806 at IL.²

     Elizabeth Goddard was born on 20 March 1747/48 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Ebenezer Goddard and Elizabeth (?)¹ Elizabeth Goddard married Ezekiel Barber, son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey, on 15 January 1779 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT.² Elizabeth Goddard died at Ellis Grove, Randolph Co., IL.

     Died single in the Army. Daniel Barber was born on 7 January 1752 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Tryphenia Humphrey. Daniel Barber died in 1776 at near New York City.

     Tryphene Barber was born on 6 December 1755 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. Tryphene Barber married Nathaniel Johnson, son of Samuel Johnson and Martha Harris.

     Nathaniel Johnson was born on 5 November 1752. He was the son of Samuel Johnson and Martha Harris. Nathaniel Johnson married Tryphene Barber, daughter of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. Nathaniel Johnson died on 6 September 1783 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 30.

     Joel Barber was born in March 1757 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. Joel Barber married Mary Phelps, daughter of Thomas Phelps and Margaret Watson, between 1775 and 1776. Joel Barber died circa 1834 at St. Remi, Québec, Canada.

     Mary Phelps was born on 20 July 1754 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Thomas Phelps and Margaret Watson.¹ Mary Phelps married Joel Barber, son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey, between 1775 and 1776. Mary Phelps died in May 1784 at age 29.

     Hannah Barber was born in 1759 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey.

     Sarah Barber married John George Bandell. Sarah Barber was born in 1761. She was the daughter of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. Sarah Barber died on 22 May 1829 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT.

     John George Bandell married Sarah Barber, daughter of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. John George Bandell was born in 1754 at Germany. He died in 1832 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT.

     Asahel Barber was born on 10 August 1727 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Barber and Jane Alvord. Asahel Barber died on 25 December 1762 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 35.

     Jesse Barber was born on 16 January 1766 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. Jesse Barber married Hepzibah Humphrey, daughter of Deacon Theophilus Humphrey and Hepzibah Cornish, in 1787 at West Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Jesse Barber died on 24 March 1813 at Fairfield, VT, at age 47.² He was buried at Greens Corner Cemetery, Swanton, Franklin Co., VT.³

     Hepzibah Humphrey was born in 1767. She was the daughter of Deacon Theophilus Humphrey and Hepzibah Cornish. Hepzibah Humphrey married Jesse Barber, son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey, in 1787 at West Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Hepzibah Humphrey died in 1848 at Swanton, Franklin Co., VT. She was buried at Greens Corner Cemetery, Swanton, Franklin Co., VT.²

Hepzibah may have subsequently married T. Chapin, as he is recorded as her spoue on her tombstone in Swanton, although no documentary evidence survives to support this.

     Giles Barber was also known as Giles Barbour. He was born on 22 September 1769 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey. Giles Barber married Mary Garrett, daughter of John Garrett II and Mary Case, in April 1796. Giles Barber died on 19 January 1826 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT, at age 56.

     Mary Garrett was born on 10 December 1776 at CT. She was the daughter of John Garrett II and Mary Case. Mary Garrett married Giles Barber, son of Dr. Samuel Barber II and Hannah Humphrey, in April 1796. Mary Garrett died on 20 December 1860 at Canton Center, CT, at age 84.

     Joel Humphrey was born on 27 April 1730. He was the son of Noah Humphrey and Hannah Case.

     Asaph Humphrey was born on 16 May 1732. He was the son of Noah Humphrey and Hannah Case.

     Martin Humphrey was the son of Noah Humphrey and Hannah Case. Martin Humphrey married Susannah Humphrey, daughter of Thomas Humphrey and Abigail Collyer. Martin Humphrey died in 1810.

     Susannah Humphrey was baptized on 12 January 1752. She was the daughter of Thomas Humphrey and Abigail Collyer.¹ Susannah Humphrey married Martin Humphrey, son of Noah Humphrey and Hannah Case.

     Ruth Cost Duncan lists a possible marriage in 1769 to Rhoda Case. Timothy Humphrey was the son of Noah Humphrey and Hannah Case.

     Andrew Robe married Abigail (?)
