Samuel Buell was graduated in 1741 at D.D; Yale, New Haven, New Haven Co., CT. He married Mary Miller on 9 November 1785. Samuel Buell died on 19 July 1798 at East Hampton, LI, NY, at age 81. McCracken also cites Dexter's Yale Biographies and Weis's Colonial clergy of New England. Samuel was mentioned in the wills of both grandparents.
