     Joseph Phelps was born circa 1628 at England.⁵ He was the son of William Phelps Sr. and Anne Dover. Joseph Phelps was baptized on 12 November 1628 at Crewkerne, Co. Somerset, England.⁶ He married Hannah Newton, daughter of Roger Newton Rev. and Mary Hooker, on 20 September 1660 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Joseph Phelps married Mary (?) on 19 January 1676 at Northampton, MA. Joseph Phelps died in 1684 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.⁷

     Hannah Newton was the daughter of Roger Newton Rev. and Mary Hooker. Hannah Newton married Joseph Phelps, son of William Phelps Sr. and Anne Dover, on 20 September 1660 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Hannah Newton died in 1675 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Mary (?) married Joseph Phelps, son of William Phelps Sr. and Anne Dover, on 19 January 1676 at Northampton, MA. Mary (?) died on 16 January 1682.

     Joseph Phelps was born on 20 August 1667 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 He was the son of Joseph Phelps and Hannah Newton. Joseph Phelps married Mary Collier, daughter of Goodman Joseph Collier and Elizabeth Sandford.² Joseph Phelps married Sarah Case, daughter of John Case and Sarah Spencer, on 9 November 1699 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.⁴ Joseph Phelps married Mary Case, daughter of Richard Case and Elizabeth Purchase, on 13 October 1706.² Joseph Phelps died on 20 January 1750 at age 82. He was buried at Hopmeadow Cemetery, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Hannah Phelps was born on 2 February 1668 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Joseph Phelps and Hannah Newton. Hannah Phelps died young.

     Timothy Phelps was born on 18 May 1671. He was the son of Joseph Phelps and Hannah Newton. Timothy Phelps married Rachel Moore, daughter of Andrew Moore and Sarah Phelps, on 10 December 1707.²

     Mary Collier was the daughter of Goodman Joseph Collier and Elizabeth Sandford.¹ Mary Collier married Joseph Phelps, son of Joseph Phelps and Hannah Newton.² Mary Collier died on 13 March 1697.

     Sarah Case was born on 20 April 1676 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of John Case and Sarah Spencer. Sarah Case married Joseph Phelps, son of Joseph Phelps and Hannah Newton, on 9 November 1699 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² Sarah Case died on 2 May 1704 at age 28.

     Mary Case was born say 1680.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Case and Elizabeth Purchase. Mary Case married Joseph Phelps, son of Joseph Phelps and Hannah Newton, on 13 October 1706.² Mary Case died on 10 September 1757. She was buried at Hopmeadow Cemetery, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Joseph Phelps was born on 9 October 1689 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Joseph Phelps and Mary Collier. Joseph Phelps married Rebecca North on 7 January 1713/14 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.³ Joseph Phelps married Hannah Clark on 23 April 1735.³ Joseph Phelps died on 18 June 1763 at Turkey Hills, Hartford Co., CT, at age 73.³

     Hannah Phelps was born on 25 October 1693 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Joseph Phelps and Mary Collier. Hannah Phelps married Ensign Samuel Humphrey, son of Lt. Samuel Humphrey and Mary Mills, on 23 February 1709/10. Hannah Phelps died in 1710.

     Mary Phelps was born on 17 October 1696 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Phelps and Mary Collier. Mary Phelps died on 9 January 1713 at age 16.

     Sarah Phelps was born on 11 August 1700 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Phelps and Sarah Case. Sarah Phelps died on 14 January 1714 at age 13.

     Damaris Phelps was born on 5 March 1702/3 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Phelps and Sarah Case. Damaris Phelps married John Mills on 4 July 1720.²

     John Phelps was born on 14 February 1707. He was the son of Joseph Phelps and Mary Case. John Phelps died on 5 January 1713 at age 5.

     Amos Phelps was born in 1704 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Joseph Phelps and Sarah Case. Amos Phelps married Sarah Pettibone, daughter of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell, on 1 July 1723. Amos Phelps died on 11 June 1777 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Lt. David Phelps was born on 7 May 1710 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.³ He was the son of Joseph Phelps and Mary Case. Lt. David Phelps married Abigail Pettibone, daughter of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell, on 25 April 1731 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^3,4 Lt. David Phelps died on 9 December 1760 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 50; of smallpox.^3,4

David settled in Simsbury, was made a Freeman in 1734, and represented his town in the General Assembly several times. He was a Lieut. in the Militia, and served in the French War.

     John Pettibone died in 1691. He was born in 1691. He was the son of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell.

     Mary Pettibone was born on 24 March 1693 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell. Mary Pettibone died on 21 August 1714 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 21.

     John Pettibone was born on 8 October 1695 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell. John Pettibone married Damaris Humphrey, daughter of Thomas Humphrey and Hannah Hillyer, on 24 December 1723 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. John Pettibone died on 22 June 1767 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 71.

     Damaris Humphrey was the daughter of Thomas Humphrey and Hannah Hillyer. Damaris Humphrey married John Pettibone, son of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell, on 24 December 1723 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Samuel Pettibone was born on 26 July 1698 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell. Samuel Pettibone married Mary Porter, daughter of John Porter IV and Mary Drake, on 25 January 1721. Samuel Pettibone died in 1787 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Mary Porter was born on 10 July 1703.¹ She was the daughter of John Porter IV and Mary Drake. Mary Porter married Samuel Pettibone, son of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell, on 25 January 1721.

Bowman admits to some confusion with Mary. She feels sure both Richard and John Porter had a daughter Mary, but who she married and where she belongs, she cannot speculate.

     Catherine Pettibone was born in 1700. She was the daughter of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell.

     Sarah Pettibone was born in 1704. She was the daughter of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell. Sarah Pettibone married Amos Phelps, son of Joseph Phelps and Sarah Case, on 1 July 1723. Sarah Pettibone died in 1781.

     Abigail Pettibone was born in 1706 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of John Pettibone and Mary Bissell. Abigail Pettibone married Lt. David Phelps, son of Joseph Phelps and Mary Case, on 25 April 1731 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 Abigail Pettibone married Deacon David Strong, son of Sgt. John Strong and Mary Pinney, after 9 December 1760. Abigail Pettibone died in 1807 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Mary C. Bissell was born on 25 March 1698 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Samuel Bissell and Mary (?)

     Samuel Sackett was the son of John Sackett and Abigail Hannum. Samuel Sackett married Elizabeth Bissell, daughter of Samuel Bissell and Abigail Holcombe, in 1698. Samuel Sackett died in 1709 at Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.

     John Sackett married Abigail Hannum.

     Abigail Hannum married John Sackett.

     Lt. John Root married Elizabeth Bissell, daughter of Samuel Bissell and Abigail Holcombe, in September 1713.

     William Sackett was born in 1700. He was the son of Samuel Sackett and Elizabeth Bissell. William Sackett died in 1756.

     Elizabeth Sackett was born on 20 February 1702. She was the daughter of Samuel Sackett and Elizabeth Bissell. Elizabeth Sackett married Luke Noble Jr., son of Sgt. Luke Noble and Hannah Stebbins, on 16 January 1724.¹ Elizabeth Sackett died on 22 November 1755 at age 53.²

     Luke Noble Jr. was born on 23 October 1700 at Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Sgt. Luke Noble and Hannah Stebbins. Luke Noble Jr. married Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of Samuel Sackett and Elizabeth Bissell, on 16 January 1724.¹ Luke Noble Jr. married Hannah Welsh after 27 November 1762.² Luke Noble Jr. died circa 27 March 1778 at Great Barrington, Berkshire Co., MA.¹

Luke was by trade a blacksmith, and removed, abt. 1743, from Westfield to Great Barrington, and owned and lived upon the place, in the south part of the village, now, 1875, Edward Mauvel's until 1759, when he sold it to Nathaniel Lee, and afterwards lived near by, on the opposite side of the street. The last named place, in 1772, he mortgaged to John Williams and the mortgage had not been discharged at the time of his death, in 1778. He evidently died poor. the town, about 1778, appointed a committee to inquire into the condition of Luke Noble's property, perhaps because he was a town charge. Administration on his estate was granted Jan. 5, 1779, to William Whiting of Great Barrington. The date of his death is inferred from the following entry on the books of Dr. William Whiting, under date of March 27, 1778: Town Dr. to Holland shirt to lay out Luke Noble in, 12s. Whiting was a physician, a justice, and at that time a selectman.³

Elizabeth was dismissed, April 3, 1743, from the Cong. church in Westfield, to that in Sheffield, Mass., and joined the Cong. church in Great Barrington, Mass., July 8, 1744.³

Hannah joined the Cong. church in Great Barrington, Feb. 13, 1763.³

     Samuel Sackett was born in 1704. He was the son of Samuel Sackett and Elizabeth Bissell.

     Benoni Sackett was born in 1710. He was the son of Samuel Sackett and Elizabeth Bissell. Benoni Sackett died in 1783.

     Stephen Pettibone Jr. was born in 1708. He was the son of Stephen Pettibone and Deborah Bissell. Stephen Pettibone Jr. died on 11 December 1750 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Noah Pettibone III was born in 1714. He was the son of Stephen Pettibone and Deborah Bissell.

     David Pettibone IV was born in 1716. He was the son of Stephen Pettibone and Deborah Bissell. David Pettibone IV died in 1719.

     Thankful Pettibone was born in 1721. She was the daughter of Stephen Pettibone and Deborah Bissell.

     Hannah Pettibone was born in 1706. She was the daughter of Stephen Pettibone and Deborah Bissell.
