     The DAR Patriot Index shows that Josiah gave patriotic service during the Revolution. Josiah Phelps was born on 24 August 1708 at Poquonock, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Capt. Josiah Phelps and Sarah Winchell.² Josiah Phelps married Anne Griswold, daughter of Benjamin Griswold and Elizabeth Cook, on 14 September 1733 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Josiah Phelps died on 24 July 1791 at age 82.

     Nathaniel was a descendant of Robert Winchell who came to Dorchester, MA, in 1634 and Windsor, CT. in 1635.

     John Warham Strong was born on 30 September 1706. He was the son of Sgt. John Strong and Hannah Trumbull. John Warham Strong married Abigail Thrall, daughter of Capt. Timothy Thrall and Sarah Allyn, on 30 November 1727. John Warham Strong married Azuba Griswold, daughter of Benjamin Griswold and Elizabeth Cook, on 27 March 1735 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. John Warham Strong died on 25 September 1752 at age 45.

     Capt. Timothy Thrall was born on 7 December 1662. He was the son of Timothy Thrall and Deborah Gunn. Capt. Timothy Thrall married Sarah Allyn on 31 December 1699. Capt. Timothy Thrall died on 31 January 1723 or 1724.

     Sarah Allyn married Capt. Timothy Thrall, son of Timothy Thrall and Deborah Gunn, on 31 December 1699. Sarah Allyn died on 28 December 1740.

     Abigail Thrall was born on 13 May 1708. She was the daughter of Capt. Timothy Thrall and Sarah Allyn. Abigail Thrall married John Warham Strong, son of Sgt. John Strong and Hannah Trumbull, on 30 November 1727.

     Elijah Strong was born on 22 December 1735. He was the son of John Warham Strong and Azuba Griswold. Elijah Strong died on 22 November 1737 at age 1.

     Elijah Strong was born on 20 February 1738/39. He was the son of John Warham Strong and Azuba Griswold.

Elijah died at age 19 while serving in the Franch and Indian War.

     Abigail Strong was born on 11 November 1741. She was the daughter of John Warham Strong and Azuba Griswold.

     Azubah Strong was born on 17 May 1744 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of John Warham Strong and Azuba Griswold. Azubah Strong married Noah Griswold, son of Capt. Noah Griswold and Abigail Griswold, probably 1764.² Azubah Strong married George Griswold, son of George Griswold and Zerviah Griswold.³ (an unknown value.)

     Elisha Strong was born on 1 December 1747. He was the son of John Warham Strong and Azuba Griswold.

     Elizabeth Strong was born on 9 August 1728. She was the daughter of John Warham Strong and Abigail Thrall.

     Sarah Strong was born on 3 May 1731. She was the daughter of John Warham Strong and Abigail Thrall.

     John Strong was born on 14 June 1733. He was the son of John Warham Strong and Abigail Thrall. John Strong died on 15 November 1816 at age 83.

     Nathaniel Copley was born on 25 November 1702. He was the son of Matthew Copley and Hannah Huxley. Nathaniel Copley married Esther Griswold, daughter of Benjamin Griswold and Elizabeth Cook, on 19 September 1745 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Nathaniel Copley married Mary Crane, daughter of Abraham Crane, on 6 April 1766 at Newington, CT. Nathaniel Copley died on 26 March 1773 at age 70.

     Mary Crane was the daughter of Abraham Crane. Mary Crane married Nathaniel Copley, son of Matthew Copley and Hannah Huxley, on 6 April 1766 at Newington, CT.

     Mary Griswold was born on 28 November 1742 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Capt. Moses Griswold and Mary Nichols. Mary Griswold married Augustine Drake, son of Job Drake and Martha Moore, on 13 December 1761.² Mary Griswold died on 22 January 1816 at age 73. She was buried at Palisado Cemetery, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

     Hannah and Abijah were third cousins.

Abijah served in the Revolution as a private in the 8th Co., 1st Regt. of Militia. They went first to Vermont and later to Herkimer County, NY. Both are buried in the DAR cemetery, Gloversville, NY.

She was the daughter of Capt. Moses Griswold and Mary Nichols. Hannah Griswold married Abijah Enno, son of Benjamin Enno and Jerusha Griswold, in 1770. Hannah Griswold died on 17 February 1820 at age 69.

     Elizabeth Griswold was born at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Capt. Moses Griswold and Mary Nichols. Elizabeth Griswold was baptized on 26 February 1759.

     Shubael Griswold was born on 2 May 1701 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Joseph Griswold and Deborah (?) Shubael Griswold married Phebe Cornish, daughter of Deacon James Cornish and Elizabeth Thrall, on 3 November 1723 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.²

Shubael served as a scout in the Indian Wars of 1724. His estate, Windsor, Conn. probate XI:88, 272 shows administration granted to widow Phoebe April 13, 1733; Vol. XV:30, Jan 6, 1746/7 Shubael, a minor aged 17, chose John Phelps 2nd as his guardian. ³

     David Marshall was born on 14 April 1692. He was the son of David Marshall and Abigail Phelps. David Marshall married Sarah Phelps, daughter of Lt. Timothy Phelps and Mary Griswold, on 15 December 1721.

     Naomi Marshall was born on 30 September 1757. She was the daughter of Deacon David Marshall and Naomi Griswold.

     David Marshall was born on 24 July 1666 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Capt. Samuel Marshall and Mary Wilton. David Marshall married Abigail Phelps, daughter of Samuel Phelps and Sarah Griswold, on 9 December 1686.

     Sarah Marshall was born on 21 March 1759. She was the daughter of Deacon David Marshall and Naomi Griswold.

     Pamelia Marshall was the daughter of Deacon David Marshall and Naomi Griswold.

     Elisha Marshall was born on 16 April 1763. He was the son of Deacon David Marshall and Naomi Griswold.

     Elihu Marshall was born on 21 March 1765. He was the son of Deacon David Marshall and Naomi Griswold. Elihu Marshall married Sabrina Griswold, daughter of Joab Griswold and Elizabeth Collins.¹

     Daniel Foote married Mary Collyer.

     Mary Collyer married Daniel Foote.

     Death information is from Coralee Griswold, the Griswold Family Association, via e-mail. Jeremiah Griswold was born on 14 February 1746. He was the son of Samuel Griswold. Jeremiah Griswold married Phebe Case, daughter of Abraham Case and Rachel Case. Jeremiah Griswold died on 13 May 1813 at age 67. He was buried at Case Cemetery, Burlington, Hartford Co., CT.

     Delight Griswold was born on 10 June 1751 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Samuel Griswold. Delight Griswold married Elisha Case, son of Lt. Dudley Case and Dorcas Humphrey. Delight Griswold died on 28 April 1842 at age 90. She was buried at Canton Street Cemetery, Canton, Hartford Co., CT.

     Haynes Woodbridge was born on 16 October 1717. He was the son of Rev. Timothy Woodbridge and Dorothy Lamb. Haynes Woodbridge married Elizabeth Griswold, daughter of Samuel Griswold and Elizabeth Gaylord, on 29 December 1742 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Haynes Woodbridge died on 12 April 1754 at age 36.¹ He was buried at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Rev. Timothy Woodbridge was the son of Rev. Timothy Woodbridge and Mehitable Wyllys. Rev. Timothy Woodbridge married Dorothy Lamb, daughter of Joshua Lamb, on 14 February 1711/12. Rev. Timothy Woodbridge witnessed the marriage of Samuel Barber and Sarah Holcombe on 17 December 1712 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 Rev. Timothy Woodbridge died on 28 August 1742 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.³

     Dorothy Lamb was born on 8 June 1679 at Roxbury, MA. She was the daughter of Joshua Lamb. Dorothy Lamb married Rev. Dudley Woodbridge on 10 April 1706. Dorothy Lamb married Rev. Timothy Woodbridge, son of Rev. Timothy Woodbridge and Mehitable Wyllys, on 14 February 1711/12.

     Esther Woodbridge was born on 23 May 1743. She was the daughter of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold. Esther Woodbridge died young.

     Dorothy Lamb Woodbridge was born on 13 November 1745 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold. Dorothy Lamb Woodbridge married Thomas Phelps.¹ Dorothy Lamb Woodbridge married Isaac Case Jr., son of Isaac Case and Bathsheba Humphrey.² Dorothy Lamb Woodbridge died in 1795.

There appears to be a number of Dorothy's in Simsbury at this time. This Dorothy seems to be a combination of at least two.

     Elizabeth Woodbridge was born on 15 January 1747. She was the daughter of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold.

     Thomas Phelps married Dorothy Lamb Woodbridge, daughter of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold.¹

     Mary Woodbridge was born on 5 April 1749. She was the daughter of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold. Mary Woodbridge died on 1 December 1833 at age 84.

     Susannah Woodbridge was born on 16 December 1751. She was the daughter of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold. Susannah Woodbridge died on 5 June 1753 at age 1.

     Theophilus was a private in Captain Pettibone's company, 7th Regiment, under General Spencer, serving from May to December. He was connissioned Lieutenant in the 3d Regiment, january 1, 1777, and was at Stony Point, July 15, 1779. He resigned Aparil 27, 1780. Lt. Theophilus Woodbridge was born on 23 March 1754 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold. Lt. Theophilus Woodbridge married Mary Noble, daughter of Dea. Jonathan Noble and Elizabeth Cole. Lt. Theophilus Woodbridge died on 8 November 1815 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 61.²

     Mary Noble was born say 1758; based on age at death.¹ She was the daughter of Dea. Jonathan Noble and Elizabeth Cole. Mary Noble married Lt. Theophilus Woodbridge, son of Haynes Woodbridge and Elizabeth Griswold. Mary Noble died on 5 September 1814 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹
