     Riley Hall was born on 17 April 1808 at Wallingford, New Haven Co., CT.¹ He married Janette Holcombe, daughter of Alexander Holcombe and Tryphenia Thrall, on 14 November 1855 at Rockford, Winnebago Co., IL.¹ Riley Hall died on 30 June 1872 at Rockford, Winnebago Co., IL, at age 64.¹ He was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Winnebago Co., IL.¹

     Anna Sophia Cabot was born on 15 June 1821 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Cabot and Anna Sophia Blake.² Anna Sophia Cabot married John Ellerton Lodge circa 1842.³ Anna Sophia Cabot died on 19 February 1900 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 78.³

     Anna Sophia Blake was born on 2 July 1796. She married Henry Cabot, son of George Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson, on 23 March 1814 at Brattleboro, Wiindham Co., VT.¹ Anna Sophia Blake died on 22 March 1845 at age 48.

     Elizabeth Higginson was born on 2 May 1756. She married George Cabot, son of Joseph Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson, on 22 February 1774 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.¹ Elizabeth Higginson died on 11 July 1826 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 70.

     Louis Buffington Holcombe was also known as Lewis Buffington Holcombe. He was born on 22 August 1885 at LeRoy, Bradford Co., PA.¹ He was the son of Cassius Marcellus Holcombe and Rose Ida Belle Allyn. Louis Buffington Holcombe married Dorothy Elizabeth Moyer in 1907.^2,3 Louis Buffington Holcombe died on 11 June 1947 at Tucker Co., WV, at age 61. He was buried at Davis Cemetery, Davis, Tucker Co., WV.²

Lewis B. and Dorothy B. were enumerated in the 1910 Davis, Tucker Co., WV, federal census. He was a railroad engineer age 24, she was 24. Children in the household were Virginia J. 4, and Lewis B. Jr. 1 year 10 months.

Children in the household were Keith R. 19, Eileen R. 17, James C. 15, and Elizabeth C. 11. Louis and Dorothy were still in Thomas for the 1940 Federal census. He was a Truck Driver age 55, she was 54. The only child in the household was Elizabeth 21. A Keith Holcomb, age 29, was also enumerated in Thomas with wife Maxine and daughter Darlene. A James Holcomb, age 25 was also enumerated in Thomas with wife Jennie Panifinto and her parents.

On April 27, 1942 Lewis Buffington Holcomb, living in Thomas, Tucker Co., WV, registered for the draft. He worked for the WV State Road Commission.

     Elizabeth Higginson was born in 1722. She married Joseph Cabot, son of John Cabot and Anna Orne, on 30 March 1744 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.¹ Elizabeth Higginson died in 1781. She died on 25 October 1781 at Beverly, Essex Co., MA.

     Lewis Buffington Holcombe Jr. was born circa June 1908 at WV.¹ He was the son of Louis Buffington Holcombe and Dorothy Elizabeth Moyer.¹

Rufus was Charlotte's common law husband and the father of their two daughters. On July 4, 1868, in a drunken fit of jealousy, he shot and killed Dr. John Gray. He fled and was never captured.

     Hannah Dodge was born on 7 February 1758 at Salem, Essex Co., MA. She married John Cabot, son of Joseph Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson, on 9 May 1779 at Beverly, Essex Co., MA. Hannah Dodge died on 7 February 1830 at age 72.

     William Thompson Holcombe was born say 1843 at Trumbull Co., OH; 8-9-1862 age 19 at Eugene City Oregon which is reported in the Mountain Messenger.¹ He was the son of William Harrison Holcombe and Sarah Ann Thompson.¹

     Mary Cox was born circa 1745 at Salem, Essex Co., MA. She married John Cabot, son of Joseph Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson, circa 1770.

     Alexander MacLeod was born in 1830. He married Ann MacLeod. Alexander MacLeod died in 1900.

     Rebecca Orne was born on 17 July 1748 at Salem, Essex Co., MA. She married Capt Joseph Cabot, son of Joseph Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson, on 4 August 1768 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.¹ Rebecca Orne died on 17 March 1818 at Salem, Essex Co., MA, at age 69.

     Donald Smith was born in 1835. He married Mary MacAulay. Donald Smith died in 1868.

     Rebecca Orne Cabot was born on 24 April 1769 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Capt Joseph Cabot and Rebecca Orne.¹ Rebecca Orne Cabot died on 17 December 1860 at Salem, Essex Co., MA, at age 91; unmarried.¹

     Pembroke Holcombe was born say 1841 at Trumbull Co., OH.² He was the son of William Harrison Holcombe and Sarah Ann Thompson.¹

     Elizabeth Cabot was born on 24 February 1747/48 at Salem, Essex Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson.¹ Elizabeth Cabot died on 20 June 1786 at Beverly, Essex Co., MA, at age 38.²

     Benjamin Sackett married Dorothy Buell, daughter of Ebenezer Buell and Dorothy Gillett, circa 1760.¹

     Sally Barrett was born on 13 March 1763 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She married Samuel Cabot, son of Joseph Cabot and Elizabeth Higginson, on 27 November 1781 at New North Church, Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ Sally Barrett died on 17 February 1809 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 45.¹

     Thomas Catlin married Avis Buell, daughter of Deacon Peter Buell and Avis Collins, on 25 December 1763 at Litchfield, Litchfield Co., CT.¹

     Mary Clarke Cabot 24 jan 1786 was born on 24 January 1786 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Cabot and Sally Barrett.¹ Mary Clarke Cabot 24 jan 1786 died on 22 August 1846 at age 60; unmarried.¹

Joseph's third wife was apparently a widow, as he says in his will that he gives to her "all that estate that she brought with her when she became my wife . . ."

     Sarah Cabot was born on 13 May 1792 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Cabot and Sally Barrett.¹ Sarah Cabot died on 23 November 1818 at age 26.¹

     John Holcomb Underwood was born on 30 June 1815 at Sand Lake, Rensselaer Co., NY. He was the son of Reuben Underwood Jr. and Laura Holcombe. John Holcomb Underwood died on 6 April 1874 at Petersburg, Dinwiddie Co., VA, at age 58.

     Susan Copley Cabot was born on 19 January 1794 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Cabot and Sally Barrett.¹ Susan Copley Cabot died on 22 January 1861 at Brookline, Norfolk Co., MA, at age 67.¹

     Reuben Underwood Jr. was born on 16 February 1784. He married Laura Holcombe, daughter of Josiah Holcombe and Penelope Griffin. Reuben Underwood Jr. died on 24 October 1852 at Sand Lake, Rensselaer Co., NY, at age 68.

     Marianne Cabot was born on 7 February 1802 at Milton, Norfolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Cabot and Sally Barrett.¹

     Morris Pierson Minor married Charlotte Desire Holcombe, daughter of William Harrison Holcombe and Sarah Ann Thompson, on 10 April 1871.¹ Morris Pierson Minor died in 1881 at Suisun, CA.¹
