     Martha Gaylord was born on 24 June 1659 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Samuel Gaylord and Elizabeth Hull. Martha Gaylord married Josias Ellsworth, son of Sgt. Josiah Ellsworth and Elizabeth Holcombe, on 30 October 1679 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Martha Gaylord died on 22 April 1721 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 61.

     Samuel Gaylord was baptized on 19 December 1619 at Crewkerne, Somersetshire, England.² He was the son of Deacon William Gaylord. Samuel Gaylord married Elizabeth Hull, daughter of George Hull, on 4 December 1646. Samuel Gaylord died on 19 August 1690 at age 70.

     Elizabeth Hull was the daughter of George Hull. Elizabeth Hull married Samuel Gaylord, son of Deacon William Gaylord, on 4 December 1646.

     Deacon William Gaylord was born by about 1590 at England.² He died on 20 July 1673 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

Deacon Gaylord was one of the first settlers and one of the first deacons of the Dorchester, MA, church. He moved to Windsor in 1638 where he speedily became a valuable and prominent citizen, serving as representative in 40 sessions to 1664.

     Elizabeth Gaylord was born say 1615.¹ She was the daughter of Deacon William Gaylord. Elizabeth Gaylord married Richard Birge on 5 October 1641. Elizabeth Gaylord died on 22 December 1675 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

     William Gaylord was baptized on 28 December 1617 at Crewkerne, Somersetshire, England.² He was the son of Deacon William Gaylord. William Gaylord married Ann Porter on 24 February 1641 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² William Gaylord married Elizabeth Drake, daughter of John Drake and Elizabeth Rogers, on 9 February 1653/54 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² William Gaylord died on 14 December 1656 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 38.²

     Walter Gaylord was born say 1626.² He was the son of Deacon William Gaylord. Walter Gaylord married Mary Stebbins, daughter of Deacon Edward Stebbins and Frances (?), on 22 April 1648.² Walter Gaylord married Sarah Rockwell, daughter of William Rockwell and Susanna Capen, on 22 March 1658.² Walter Gaylord died on 9 August 1689.

     John Gaylord was the son of William Gaylord and Ann Porter. John Gaylord married Mary Clark, daughter of Capt. Daniel Clark and Mary Newberry, on 13 December 1683. John Gaylord died on 27 April 1699.

     Elizabeth Gaylord was born on 4 October 1647. She was the daughter of Samuel Gaylord and Elizabeth Hull.

     Mary Gaylord was born on 10 November 1649. She was the daughter of Samuel Gaylord and Elizabeth Hull. Mary Gaylord married Ensign Joseph Griswold, son of Edward Griswold and Margaret (?), on 10 June 1670 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Sarah Gaylord was born on 18 January 1651. She was the daughter of Samuel Gaylord and Elizabeth Hull.

     Abigail Gaylord was born on 29 September 1653. She was the daughter of Samuel Gaylord and Elizabeth Hull.

     Samuel Gaylord was born in July 1657. He was the son of Samuel Gaylord and Elizabeth Hull.

     Martha Ellsworth was born in 1680. She was the daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord. Martha Ellsworth married Samuel Stiles, son of Sergeant Henry Stiles and Elizabeth Willcockson, in December 1701.¹

Martha's husbands are lsited by Weir as the husbands of her Aunt Martha Ellsworth.

     Samuel Stiles was born on 16 May 1674 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³ He was the son of Sergeant Henry Stiles and Elizabeth Willcockson.³ Samuel Stiles married Martha Ellsworth, daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord, in December 1701.³ Samuel Stiles died in December 1712 at age 38.³

     Bowman notes they had children, but cannot list them. Elizabeth Ellsworth was born on 22 January 1683 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord. Elizabeth Ellsworth married John Gridley, son of Thomas Gridley Jr. and Elizabeth Clark, on 30 May 1711 at Farmington. Elizabeth Ellsworth died on 16 June 1756 at age 73.

     John Gridley was born in 1684 at Farmington. He was the son of Thomas Gridley Jr. and Elizabeth Clark. John Gridley married Elizabeth Ellsworth, daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord, on 30 May 1711 at Farmington. John Gridley died on 13 May 1769 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Mary Ellsworth died D.Y. She was born in 1687. She was the daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord.

     Josiah Ellsworth was born on 3 March 1690. He was the son of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord.

     Mary Ellsworth was born in 1694. She was the daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord.

     Abigal Ellsworth was born in 1694. She was the daughter of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord.

     Samuel Ellsworth was born on 18 July 1697 at Enfield, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord. Samuel Ellsworth married Elizabeth Allen, daughter of John Allen and Bridget Booth, on 20 November 1717 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Samuel Ellsworth died at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Bowman lists two children, unnamed that died in 1736 and 1737 respectively, and based on their birth order, probably died very young. Stiles does not list Elizabeth.

     Elizabeth wsas second cousing to General Ethan Allen and Colonel Abenezer Allen of Revolutionary War fame. Their children are listed in the Ellsworth Genealogy. Elizabeth Allen was born on 21 April 1698 at Enfield, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of John Allen and Bridget Booth. Elizabeth Allen married Samuel Ellsworth, son of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord, on 20 November 1717 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Elizabeth Allen died on 28 September 1766 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 68.

     Bowman thinks wifes last name is propably Strickland. Children are listed in the Ellsworth Genealogy. Joseph Ellsworth was born in 1700. He was the son of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord. Joseph Ellsworth married Ammarantze Strickland.

     Timothy Ellsworth died D.Y. He was the son of Josias Ellsworth and Martha Gaylord.

     Thomas Loomis was born in 1624 at Essex, England. He was the son of Joseph Loomis and Mary White. Thomas Loomis married Hannah Fox on 1 November 1653 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³ Thomas Loomis married Mary Judd, daughter of Thomas Judd, on 1 January 1662/63 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.^4,5 Thomas Loomis was CHURCH MEMBERSHIP on 3 April 1666 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He died on 28 August 1689 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³ He received from his father one acre to build upon, on the East side, next S. to Henry Wolcott., Jr., and Mr. Allyn's meadow; W. by the street, 12 rods wide, and bdg. S on his father -- this was on what is known as "The Island" had also farm on E. side of Gt. River; was made freeman 1654.

     Nathaniel Loomis was born circa 1626 at Essex, England. He was the son of Joseph Loomis and Mary White. Nathaniel Loomis married Elizabeth Moore, daughter of John Moore, on 24 November 1653 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² Nathaniel Loomis died on 19 August 1688.

Elisha Loomis says:

"He was freeman in 1654, and admitted to the church may 3, 1663. Was a member of Windsor Troop of House in King Phillip's War."

     Elizabeth Loomis was born circa 1619 at England. She was the daughter of Joseph Loomis and Mary White. Elizabeth Loomis married Josiah Hull, son of George Hull, on 20 May 1641 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³

     Mary Loomis was born circa 1620 at England. She was the daughter of Joseph Loomis and Mary White. Mary Loomis married John Skinner.⁴ Mary Loomis married Owen Tudor on 13 November 1651 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.^5,6 Mary Loomis died on 19 August 1680 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.^7,5

     Sarah Loomis was born in 1617. She was the daughter of Joseph Loomis and Mary White. Sarah Loomis married Capt. Nicholas Olmsted, son of James Olmsted and Joyce Cornish, before 28 September 1640.^3,4 Sarah Loomis died circa 1667.⁴

     Elizabeth Moore was born circa 1638 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of John Moore. Elizabeth Moore married Nathaniel Loomis, son of Joseph Loomis and Mary White, on 24 November 1653 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² Elizabeth Moore married John Case. Elizabeth Moore died on 23 July 1728 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Lt. Nathaniel Loomis was born on 20 March 1656/57. He was the son of Nathaniel Loomis and Elizabeth Moore. Lt. Nathaniel Loomis married Elizabeth Ellsworth, daughter of Sgt. Josiah Ellsworth and Elizabeth Holcombe, on 23 December 1680. Lt. Nathaniel Loomis left a will on 26 May 1729. He died on 29 September 1733 at age 76.

     Rebecca Loomis was born in 1682.

     Sgt. Daniel Loomis was born on 16 June 1657 at Farmington, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Deacon John Loomis and Elizabeth Scott. Sgt. Daniel Loomis married Mary Ellsworth, daughter of Sgt. Josiah Ellsworth and Elizabeth Holcombe, on 23 December 1680. Sgt. Daniel Loomis married Hannah Mills, daughter of Simon Mills and Mary Buell, on 9 July 1713. Sgt. Daniel Loomis left a will on 26 February 1731. He died on 25 June 1740 at age 83. His estate was probated on 5 August 1740.

     Simon Drake was born on 28 October 1659 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Drake and Hannah Moore. Simon Drake married Hannah Mills, daughter of Simon Mills and Mary Buell, on 15 December 1687. Simon Drake died on 21 December 1711 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 52.

     Daniel Loomis was born on 15 November 1682. He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Daniel Loomis married Elizabeth Barber, daughter of Samuel Barber and Ruth Drake, on 10 November 1709 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Daniel Loomis died in 1754.

     Josiah Loomis was born on 28 November 1684 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Josiah Loomis married Elizabeth Kelsey, daughter of Thomas Kelsey, on 22 January 1707/8 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Josiah Loomis died in 1741 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Ensign Job Loomis was born on 21 January 1686. He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Ensign Job Loomis married Abigail Filley on 27 April 1710. Ensign Job Loomis died on 6 January 1765 at age 78.

     Ensign John Loomis was born on 11 October 1688. He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Ensign John Loomis married Anna Eno, daughter of John Eno and Mary Dibble, on 24 April 1712. Ensign John Loomis died on 6 September 1765 at age 76.

     Mary Loomis was born on 15 January 1690/91. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Loomis and Elizabeth Moore. Mary Loomis married Joseph Barber, son of Samuel Barber and Ruth Drake, on 6 May 1708 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

Don Barber in an E-mail conceds an error in his first edition by listing Mary as the daughter of Sgt Daniel and Mary (Ellsworth) Loomis. The Loomis genealogy does list a daughter for Daniel and Mary who married a ---Barber (page 136, item 127); according to Don this is the one he listed and it is incorrect and will be corrected in a revision he will publish later.

     Isaac Loomis was born on 23 August 1694. He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Isaac Loomis married Hannah Eggleston, daughter of Thomas Eggleston and Grace Hoskins, on 26 April 1716.

     Abraham Loomis was born on 13 December 1696.³ He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Abraham Loomis married Isabel Eggleston, daughter of Thomas Eggleston and Grace Hoskins, on 5 February 1718.⁴

Settled in Torrington, where his wife and daughters Isabela and Jerusha joined the church on 17 July 1754.

He received £10 for hiring a man into the army in 1779. He was made freeman in 1777, and was one of the 136 Torrington Twp. patentees, 1732. ⁵

     Benjamin Loomis was born on 7 February 1698/99. He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Benjamin Loomis married Joanna Alvord, daughter of Jeremy Alvord and Jane Hoskins, on 9 December 1725.

     Benajah Loomis was born on 20 January 1702. He was the son of Sgt. Daniel Loomis and Mary Ellsworth. Benajah Loomis died on 6 May 1702.

     Sgt. John Osborn was born on 10 January 1645. He was the son of John Osborn and Ann Oldage. Sgt. John Osborn married Abigail Eggleston on 14 October 1669 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³ Sgt. John Osborn married Martha Ellsworth, daughter of Sgt. Josiah Ellsworth and Elizabeth Holcombe, circa 1690.⁴
